Handy(wo)man, Mary.

As promised, I mentioned that I would proudly reveal the before and after shots of the home project my GF and I took on a few weeks ago. For any of you out there who enjoy this kind of thing, you know what it is like when you get one project started....100's more pop up and before you know it you are tearing down walls, changing out all fixtures, re-painting and building a deck.

Before I reveal my latest project, I thought I'd share a few of my other (less complicated) building projects.
BED.

BOOKSHELVES.

CD/WEIGHT STORAGE.

Finally, the new porch daybed.....aaaaah, perfect for morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.

Now, we are ready for a Spring party.

Working Title.

Seminar this week was a presentation by former PC student, John Givens. Here is his film: Working Title
It is a FABULOUS documentary on how we identify ourselves as "artists." Very interesting to anyone who is a "creative"--you know who you are.

Personals.

So, the other day, I was searching for a "match.com" type website that would connect pet owners with each other for puppy play groups or some other kind pet-centric social activity. I happened upon www.petpeoplemeet.com...and, along with friend, Colleen, spent an hour looking a cheesy profiles. Here is the best. I would like to point out this gentleman's love of weaponry, mankind and simultaneous loathing of gays. Single ladies...here's your chance.

a brief hiatus.

Okay, okay, okay...so it HAS been 10 days since I last blogged...I know, I suck.

....moving on....

As some of you may or may not know, I like to build things...I have built my bed, my bookshelves, numerous storage-type things, and many other, *less successful* projects. Basically, my wheels are always spinning...if I'm not thinking about design, I'm thinking about painting or building or sewing or starting businesses or landscaping or writing or pretty-much-anything-that-i-can-create. I love that about myself and it drives me batty at times too. Nonetheless, my GF and I embarked on a building project this weekend and I created a built-in *daybed/seating area* for her patio. I am going to post pictures soon but we have to upholster the cushion for it first...then, I will dazzle you all with "the reveal." I have to say, I'm pretty happy with the results and, surprisingly enough, no limbs were lost, no blood shed and no fingers chopped off which is more than I can say for most of my endeavors.

Stay tuned for a photo.

Back to School.

Today *officially* starts my first day of school.

I have freshly sharpened #2 pencils and a new notebook with my name handwritten on the cover in bubble letters. I'm ready to go. I used my discover card to pay my tuition because this is the card that assures me it will pay ME back...how fortunate I feel. I got my schedule that has several cryptic "classes" with an identity TBD at a later date.

I heart Portfolio Center.

I should be doing something organizational, something to prepare me for these next few months...and I am utterly uninspired. I started a new painting last week...each day I've taken a stab at completing it but it is a tough piece to finish. Emotionally dense pieces tend to be and this is one of those. It is a piece I will probably not sell...I usually don't keep a lot of my work, but there are several pieces that I would NEVER sell or give away because they are so much a part of me. Maybe I should, but I retain the right to be selfish from time to time.

In other news...well, there is none. I do need to say this: I LOVE Nancy Grace. She is on CNN and is F-A-B-U-L-O-U-S. I got to watch her several times while on break and it is a routine I may just carry over into this final quarter at PC.

Happy Monday everyone.
